By holding fund drives and making corporate donations as well as sponsoring charitable activities and encouraging employee participation, ABX makes an important difference for the quality of life in the communities in which it is based.

Annual Charity Drive

• United Way of Clinton County
• American Heart Association
• American Cancer Society

Employees pledged over $127,000 for these charities in 2003. Additionally, ABX Air contributed $10,000 to the United Way of Clinton County.

Donations to Capital Campaigns

ABX has pledged $150,000 over 5 years for the CMH Regional Health Systems building campaign. The CMH building campaign is funding the construction of a state-of-the-art medical facility for the community.

ABX has pledged $7,500 over 3 years for downtown Wilmington's Main Street Program.

Other capital donations have included the Clinton County Historical Society and Highland County YMCA.

March of Dimes WalkAmerica of Clinton County

• The ABX team raised over $2,650 for the March of Dimes.
• We've been a corporate sponsor since 1995.

Multiple Sclerosis Walk of Clinton County

• The ABX team raised over $8,000 in the last five years.
• We've been a corporate sponsor since 1996.

American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Clinton County

• ABX Air is a corporate sponsor of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Clinton County.
• The ABX team raised over $60,000 in 2003. We were the #4 money-raising team in the United States.

County Fairs

ABX is active in local County Fairs purchasing livestock, sponsoring trophies and banners, and helping local kids learn about responsibility and commitment to teamwork. In 2001, ABX spent over $5,000 on livestock, trophies, and other projects.

Blood Drives

ABX hosts blood drives for its employees several times a year.

• Our Spring 2003 blood drive totaled 268 units and was the first-ever civilian blood drive on an aircraft (an ABX DC-9).
• ABX won a 2003 Platinum Blood Drive Award, the highest award given by America's Blood Centers.

Food Drive

In 2003, ABX employees stuffed a bus with nearly $3,000 of food to be donated to the following food pantries:

• Clinton County Homeless Shelter
• Clinton County Community Action Center
• Your Father's Kitchen

In addition, the ABX Food Club, an employee-driven charity, is a significant contributor to the Clinton County Homeless Shelter.

Environmental Awareness

ABX spent over $12 million implementing a state-of-the-art subsurface storm water treatment facility, the first of its kind at an airport in the U.S. At cold climate airports, de-ice fluid is required to treat aircraft and runways for safe operations in winter weather. The subsurface water treatment facility captures and treats storm water run off that may contain de-icer to ensure that any water released into the environment meets Ohio EPA water quality standards.

ABX also supports local clean up efforts at Cowan Lake's Park Watch and Caesar Creek's Green Up day.
