Dear
ABX Employee,
Attached
you will find a letter sent to our customer, DHL, from the Postal
union activists, claiming that organizers have been harassed, threatened,
interrogated and assaulted by ABX in response to their organizing
efforts.
I am
providing you a copy
of this letter so you can understand why ABX believes
that this union would not be good for you, our company and our customers.
This letter represents an attempt by the union activists to deny
you your legal rights under the Railway Labor Act. While they promise
you a voice, this letter attempts to silence the company and you,
and take away your legal right to vote.
The
postal union is asking for “Neutrality”:
A
“Neutrality” agreement means that the Postal Union
is asking DHL to arrange an agreement whereby ABX management can
no longer talk to employees, give information or give an opinion
about the unionizing process. They simply don’t want you
to know the truth about unionization.
The
postal union is asking for a “Card Check” system:
A
“Card Check” procedure means the Postal Union is trying
to go behind your back by asking DHL to arrange an agreement to
deny you the right to a secret ballot election. The union says
by signing a union authorization card you are only asking for
an election. Now they want the card to represent the vote! And
they wonder why the company says signing a union card without
all the facts can be dangerous!
It
is my opinion that the Postal union will try any means possible
to unionize our workplace. What have they got to lose? It’s
your job not theirs! I will not agree to any “Neutrality”
or “Card Check” agreement. I will always respect our
employees’ rights to be for or against a union. You deserve
to know the truth about unionism and I am committed to providing
you all the information necessary so you can make an informed choice.
Sincerely,
